Every business has to have a start date. This is a date when the business is officially open and can start accepting customers. For WildBlue Drones that date is Jan 8, 2024. I’m writing this post now because I have to set up the posts page on the website. So, rather than write some dummy posts, I thought I would write a few articles with actual content.
The idea for this company began back in late November 2023. I plan to write about that spark of an idea in a later post. For now, just know that a lot goes into starting a business like this. Besides all the operational start-up requirements such as forming the company, tax ID, logos, insurance, website, and more, there are practical needs such as cameras, lenses, tripods, filters, and, of course, a drone. Then you have to become proficient at using those tools. Still, from idea to open for business has been right around two months.
I can’t take full credit for that fast startup time. One of the first decisions I made before starting this company was to join the Sky Eye Network (SEN). They are the largest organization of Drone pilots in the country. They provided the roadmap for starting this company. They also provide training on a host of topics such as flying the drone, prep materials for passing the FAA Part 107 test, photo bracketing, real estate photography, and much more. Additionally, they help with marketing materials and suggestions. If I encounter a problem or an issue I don’t know how to handle, I have SEN as a resource. Additionally, I have a host of other drone pilot professionals I can tap for guidance.
If I get to a point where I need to add more drone pilots, they will have access to the same resources as me. So, if you need any of the services found on this site, give me a call or send me an email. WildBlue Drones is open for business.
